高分子在粘度计毛细管管壁上的吸附不仅会导致毛细管有效管径减小,而且可以导致毛细管界面性质发生显著改变,具体表现为测定高分子溶液流过时间t之前和之后纯溶剂的流过时间t0和t0′与高分子溶液流过时间t对浓度作图外推到浓度为零时的值t0^*并不一致。不同温度时聚乙烯吡咯烷酮(PVP)水溶液粘度测定结果表明,当吸附讷发子显著改变了毛细管界面性质时,需要将高分子溶液粘度测定方法由t/t0′改为t/t0^*。经过改进的粘度测定方法不仅更加普适合理,而且更加简单有效。 相似文献

Colloidal dispersions of calcium carbonate, stabilised primarily by a surface active agent, in both toluene and dodecane have been examined by small angle neutron scattering. A model has been developed to simulate the scattering behaviour of the particles and is based on the idea of a concentric sphere with a homogeneous layer of adsorbed material surrounding a core particle. Computations based on the model show a wide variation of scattering behaviour with variation of the coherent scattering length of the dispersion medium. These predictions were confirmed by experiment. A method is described for analysis of the experimental data which leads to a determination of the thickness of the adsorbed layer, the radius of the core particle and the standard deviation of core particle radius. 相似文献

Exfoliated polystyrene (PS)/laponite nanocomposites were prepared successfully. The characteristic doo1 diffraction peak of organo-laponite disappeared in the XRD patterns of nanocomposites, indicating that the laponite layers were exfoliated and the ordered crystal structure of laponite was destroyed because of the styrene polymerization. TEM observations showed that the exfoliated laponite primary particles were dispersed randomly in the PS matrix with lateral dimensions from 1 nm to 10 rim. SEM results showed that the PS/laponite nanocomposite particles were almost monodispersed spheres with the size of about 120 rim. Because of the interaction between PS and laponite nanolayers, the nanocomposites exhibited higher thermal stability and glass transition temperature when compared to pure PS. 相似文献

From the measurements of surface potentials of quartz capillaries before and after adsorption of poly(ethylene oxides) (PEO) of various molecular mass, an assessment of the equilibrium hydrodynamic thickness of the adsorption layers has been obtained. The results have been compared with those of independent measurements of . The flow of the polymer solution under increasing pressure drops at the ends of a capillary, which causes the corresponding shear stress () on the surface of adsorbed PEO layers, results in the deformation of the latter, which manifests itself in decreasing 5. The values decrease by several times when the shear stress rises to 2×102 N m–2. Human tooth enamel provides a nearly permanent and chronological record of an individuals nutritional status and anthropogenic trace metal exposure during development; it might thus provide an excellent bio archive. We investigated the micro-spatial distribution of trace metals (Cu, Fe, Mg, Sr, Pb, and Zn) in 196×339 m2 raster pattern areas (6.6×104 m2) in a deciduous tooth using laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (LA–ICP–MS). Ablated areas include prenatal and postnatal enamel, the neonatal line, the dentine–enamel junction (DEJ), dentine, and the dentine–pulp junction. Topographic variations in the surface elemental distribution of lead, zinc, strontium, and iron intensities in a deciduous tooth revealed heterogeneous distribution within and among regions. 43Ca normalized elemental intensities showed the following order: Sr>Mg>>Zn>Pb>Fe>Cu. Elevated zinc and lead levels were present in the dental pulp region and at the neonatal line. This study demonstrates the ability of LA–ICP–MS to provide unique elemental distribution information in micro spatial areas of dental hard tissues. Superconductivity characteristics have been systematically evaluated for a two-CuO2-plane copper oxide system, (Cu,Mo)-12s2, upon increasing the number of fluorite-structured layers, s, between the two CuO2 planes. Essentially single-phase samples of (Cu0.75Mo0.25)Sr2YCu2O7+δ (s=1), (Cu0.75Mo0.25)Sr2(Ce0.45Y0.55)2Cu2O9+δ (s=2) and (Cu0.75Mo0.25)Sr2(Ce0.67Y0.33)3Cu2O11+δ (s=3) were synthesized through a conventional solid-state route in air. To make the samples superconductive an additional high-pressure oxygenation (HPO) treatment was required. Such treatment (carried out at 5 GPa and 500 °C in the presence of 75 mol% Ag2O2 as an oxygen source to maximize the Tc) compressed the crystal lattice for the three members of the (Cu0.75Mo0.25)-12s2 series equally, i.e., by 0.01 Å for the a parameter and by 0.07 Å for the c parameter per formula unit. From both Cu L-edge and O K-edge XANES spectra the s=1 sample was found to possess the highest overall hole-doping level among the HPO samples. Accordingly it exhibited the best superconductivity characteristics. With increasing s, both the Tc (s=1: 88 K, s=2: 61 K, s=3: 53 K) and Hirr values got depressed, being well explained by the trend of decreasing CuO2-plane hole concentration with increasing s as revealed from O K-edge XANES spectra for the same samples. Hence, the present results do not suggest any significant (negative) impact on the superconductivity characteristics from the gradually thickened fluorite-structured block itself. 相似文献

Emanation thermal analysis (ETA) was used for characterization of thermal behaviour of SiCf/SiC composites on heating in argon and air, respectively. Effect of gas environment (argon, air) and helium ions implantation
on the microstructure development of the SiCf/SiC composite prepared by chemical vapour infiltration (CVI) from Nicalon CG fibres was investigated under in situ conditions
of heating. The annealing of near surface structure irregularities was observed in the range 280-700°C and evaluated by means
of the mathematical model, assuming that the structure irregularities served as diffusion paths for radon. The ETA reflected
the formation of amorphous silica and its subsequent crystallization to crystoballite. Morphology of the SiCf/SiC samples before and after the heat treatments was characterized by means of SEM.

Emanation Thermal Analysis (ETA) was demonstrated as a tool for the characterization of microstructure changes of a sol-gel
precursor for silica-titania layers deposited on the glass plate to be used as planar waveguides. Temperature ranges of 280-330
and 380-500°C, respectively, in which the densification of the layers took place, were determined by ETA under in situ conditions
of the sample heating. Results of thermogravimetry were compared with the ETA data.

Controlled-rate thermal analysis (CRTA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to investigate the adsorbed water layers and the surface properties of different commercial activated carbons. A simple method is proposed to obtain information on the properties of the adsorbed water film and the surface heterogeneity of the materials studied. This method utilizes TG mass loss and the first derivative of the DTG mass loss curves with respect to temperature and time, obtained during programmed liquid thermodesorption. The obtained TG mass loss curves, which reflect the energetic heterogeneity, consisted of steps and inflections which were associated with the mechanism of wetting of the solid surfaces. The heights of these steps and inflections depend on the adsorption capacity, the adsorption potential and the nature and number of the active centers of the carbon samples studied. The values of the total porosity and the surface phase capacity obtained by this method are in good agreement with those estimated on the basis of independent methods. The behaviour of water/carbon samples was studied by means of DSC at subambient and elevated temperatures. The experimental results provided novel data on the structural heterogeneity, the thermal stability of the water/carbon interface and its phase and structural transitions.Support from the Research Council of Kent State University (Ohio, USA) is acknowledged. Melt extrusion was used to prepare binary nanocomposites of ethylene copolymers and organoclay and trinary nanocomposites of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), ethylene copolymer and organoclay. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to analyze the structure of the clay phase and the morphology of the nanocomposites. Influences of the comonomer in the copolymer and the content of the copolymer on the morphology of the resulting nanocomposites were discussed. The binary and the trinary composites may form intercalated or exfoliated structures depending on the interaction between the copolymer and the clay layers and the content of the copolymer. 相似文献
